I think everyone must have this entry on their blog.

“My first blog post” by me

or better yet “blog test”.

But really, I think this is the second time - or perhaps third (no it’s the fourth) that I’ve had some kind of blog format for my thoughts. The first was almost like a news section to the original onthemargins site done with Greymatter. Didn’t have much news and it seemed too constraining to just write about key events. I also had a private diary version of this.

Then I had to make a blog to keep track of thesis ideas at Parsons. That went alright for a short period of time, until deadlines really came down on me and I forgot about it.
So my ideas during that time are over there on this dead page
…..and I feel guilty about leaving my ideas somewhere to die.

I also wrote a little script, which I thought was pretty clever at the time, to open a shell on my computer and ask me a question, to which I answered with diary-type entries about feelings, ideas, bullshit. That came to an end once I got a new computer, and I have a feeling my old laptop is mad at me for not responding to its daily attempt to start a conversation.

So now I’m trying to begin anew - in a semi-public format. I don’t know if I’m going to publicize this right away, but it is on the web for people to see. I settled on WordPress for blogging software partly because of its popularity and good support, a little because of its simplicity.

So let’s see how this goes.
